Steel hilt with dark brown Bakelite grips and a guard. Waffenamt acceptance marks on the pommel, above the lock.
Steel blade with well-preserved black oxide finish. On the blade’s edge, on the outer side, the number “9754,” with the letter “a” below; on the inner side, the manufacturer’s mark “JOS. CORTSS M.” The year “40” is marked on the spine.
The steel scabbard is topped with a pommel bearing the Waffenamt acceptance mark. The scabbard bears the number “9754,” and on the back, the marking “cof 1940.”
Leather scabbard with aluminum rivets and a strap fastened with an aluminum knob.
