GERMAN HUNTING CUTLASS
Vintage German hunting sword, 26 in. blade and 31.5 in. overall, with a staghorn grip and brass pommel and crossguard, the band of the pommel depicting various nature scenes. Though a bit oxidized, the brass crossguard retains quality detail depicting a boar's head, and with dog head quillions. The clamshell beneath is present, albeit a bit loose. Lightly etched on either side of the unmarked blade are matching floral motifs. A fine example. Housed within an ill-fitting black leather scabbard, a small 2 in. split on the reverse at the top. The scabbard also lacks original brass fittings, though it appears they were once present.
