GERMAN IMPERIAL HUNTING CUTLASS
Fine German Imperial hunting cutlass, bone-like grip originally decorated with six gilt brass acorns (two missing), 'D' shaped hand guard terminating with deer hooves at either end, and a clamshell cross guard. The 11.75 in. steel blade is marked by maker WKC and is elaborately etched with images of a hunter and hounds pursuing a wild boar, game birds, jumping stags, etc. The blade is near faultless. With matching leather-covered scabbard with gilt brass fittings, bottom fitting a bit loose. Overall very good.
