GERMAN MAUSER K98K (BYF42) BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
Cal. 8x57. S# 5065g. Bbl. 23 1/2". Standard K98k sights with hooded front. Bolt assembly is a mismatched replacement that appears to be from a Steyr SS contract rifle but other visible numbered parts are matching to receiver. "byf 42" coded K98k Mauser rifle. Blued finish. Laminated stock set with cupped buttplate & left side sling provisions. Right side of stock has faint eagle "135" acceptance stamp. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock set shows a few gouges, a couple laminate splits, scattered dings & handling marks. Metal retains 50% original blue with overall fading to gray most heavily on bottom metal, a ding on floorplate, scattered oxidaiton, edge wear & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore has scattered residue, some frosting but strong rifling. (26-3221/MJC). CURIO. $1000-1500.
