GERMAN METTLACH HEIDELBERG CERAMIC STEINS, LOT OF TWO, each mold number 1526, having metal lid and 1/2 liter size, comprising one example having hand-brushed design to side of the Heidelberg city coat-of-arms and other with coat-of-arms for the student society of the Corps Suevia Heidelburg. City coat-of-arms example with printed "VILLEROY & BOCH / METTLACH / Made in Saar-Basin" mark to base, Corps Suevia example with hand-signed "C. Werker / Heidelberg" mark, each with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century.
Condition: City coat-of-arms example undamaged with some surface residue; Corps Suevia example with a few minute glaze flakes to inner rim, some possibly as made, an area of discoloration to interior, some surface scratches and marks.
Size: 6 1/8" HOA.
