GERMAN METTLACH YOUNG SIEGFRIED CERAMIC STEIN, mold number 2394, having etched sides with three scenes from Siegfried's youth of him going to the blacksmith, forging a sword, and kills a Lindwurm, or wingless dragon/serpent monster, ceramic inset metal lid, 1/2 liter size. Impressed "METTLACH / VB" and "GESCHUTZT" marks to base with additional impressed numerals. Late 19th/early 20th century.
Condition: Undamaged with light scuff marks and scratches along edges of base.
Size: 8 1/2" HOA.
