The fluted body is flanked by two glass panes set within garlanded medallions and held in place by ribbons. At the top is a removable imitation globe. The white enamelled dial, displaying the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals, is signed ‘Tavernier à Paris’; the back plate is also signed; it features a wire suspension and striking mechanism.Louis XVI period.Height: 35 cm – Width: 18 cm – Depth: 11 cm(wear to the gilding and some distortion, generally in good condition)
