"This early Mirage Studios title was an anthology series that saw the introduction of various characters that would later appear within the pages of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series. Fugitoid (aka Professor Honeycutt) makes his debut in this issue." recounts Hake's Senior Consignment Manager Mike Bollinger. "This issue's back cover features an advertisement for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1, featuring Eastman and Laird's now iconic cover, which is noteworthy as this issue predates the Turtles' first appearance. That fact alone makes this a must-have for any serious Turtles collector."
"We have only sold two examples of Gobbledygook #1 before, the next highest grade being a CGC 9.0 (Universal label) VF/NM copy that sold for a record-breaking $71,390 in June 2021." said Hake's General Manager Kelly McClain. "We're very excited to offer this 9.4 Gobbledygook #1, the highest graded example ever offered at auction. This is one of those comics that every TMNT fan dreams of adding to their collection, and this high grade specimen is sure to excite bidders."
Historic and rare Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic, which saw an incredibly small print run of just 150 issues. At time of cataloging, only 28 examples in total have been graded by CGC according to current CGC Population Report, w/only two Signature Series examples in a CGC 9.4 grade (none higher).
