GOLDSCHEIDER “Striding Dancer” Josef Lorenzl (design) / Goldscheider, Vienna. Designed around 1937, cast probably around 1937–38. Ceramic, light-colored body. Polychrome underglaze painting. A graceful, striding dancer with short, wavy platinum-blonde hair stands on a black oval pedestal. The model number “7777” is embossed on the underside of the base, along with additional engraved marks “7.” The black company mark “Goldscheider Wien / MADE IN AUSTRIA” and the artist’s signature “Lorenzl” are stamped on the piece. Dimensions: Height approx. 30 cm. Very good condition for its age. A small chip or glaze flake on the lower hem of the dress at the back (see detailed image).
See Robert E. Dechant/Filipp Goldscheider, *Goldscheider: Company History and Catalog Raisonné*, Stuttgart 2007, p. 471, model number 7777F (attributed there to the sculptor Stefan Dakon).
