GUN. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 41230S5 (1965). The 30" barrels fitted with broadway ventilated rib are marked for mod and full chokes. Top barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY" on left and with gauge, patent and "MADE IN BELGIUM" on right. Blued superposed action with non-automatic safety and gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual grade 1 style with lightly cut large scrolls and acanthus. Bottom of action is marked "Lightning" "BROWNING". Long tang square knob buttstock is made of lightly figured American walnut and measures 14-3/4" over brown Browning pad. Full target forend matches well. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: O .726. U .722. Restriction: O .041 (extra full). U .022 (mod). STOCK: DAH: 1-1/2". DAC: 1-5/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-3/4". WEIGHT: 8 lb. 0 oz. CONDITION: very fine showing moderate use. Metal retaining nearly all original blue. Action with silvering to sharp edges and thinning of finish at bottom. Stocks retain nearly all of their original varnish which shows crazing and a few scattered marks; checkering is somewhat darkened. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight; mechanically fine.
