GRAHAM LAND - UNIQUE(?) 2s-6d RATE "By Air Mail" COVER TO LIPHOOK VIA S. AMERICA & NY EX LT. COMMANDER MARR; 17 Apr. 1944 env. (slight creasing) endorsed "By Air Mail" by the Expedition's Leader and signed with his name and rank on the flap to his wife in Liphook with Graham Land 1/- (2) + 6d all tied by light purple "Graham Land" cds's with a faint P. Stanley transit cds on the reverse. The rate was made up of 3d to Chile or Uruguay plus the Airmail to NY & then Surface Mail to GB 2s-3d rate. An exceptional genuine franking from Port Lockroy in Graham Land; believed to be the only such 2s-6d rate Airmail cover recorded from Tabarin.
