GRAHAM SUTHERLAND
1903-1980
COMPLEX OF A ROCK (STUDY)

dated 8.5 75; stamped with Artist's initials on overlap of sheet
pencil, watercolour and gouache on paper
image: 47.5 by 38.5cm.; 18¾ by 15¼in.

Condition Report:
The sheet has been folded at its lower and right edges. The sheet undulates very slightly in keeping with the Artist's materials and working methods. There are a few small nicks to the extreme edges of the sheet. There are the remnants of an old adhesive tape at the lower edge. There are a number of scratches and punctures to the sheet, most probably from where the Artist has worked the sheet. Most notably, there is is one crescent shaped scratch, which intermittently extends all the way through the sheet, in in the upper left quadrant. There are further scratches and scuffs where the Artist has worked the sheet. There are also some further creases and scuffs elsewhere. In the lower left quadrant there are a small grouping of raised areas to the sheet where the paint surface has been slightly rubbed. This excepting the work appears to be in good overall condition.

The sheet is window mounted and held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
