FIRST EDITION THUS, newly translated into French (without a credit for the translator), and illustrated with wood-engravings after Grandville. Known for his caricatures, which were often political in context, Grandville faced censorship in the mid-1830s, and turned primarily to book illustration during the last years of his life.
