GRAY WHITE AND RUSSET JADE FINIAL Ming Dynasty
In the form of a bird with folded wings, neatly incised tail feathers and carefully delineated feet. Underside of tail feathers carved with phoenix designs. Body cut with cylindrical hole, possibly indicating it was designed to mount on a staff or cane, which were symbolically used by men at 70 years old. Length 3.3".
