GRAZIOLI, Pietro (1700-1753) - De praeclaris Mediolani aedificiis. Milan: Regia Curia, 1735. A good copy of the first edition of this important compendium on Milanese monuments before the Siege of Milan in 1162. 4to (260 x 194mm). Title printed in red and black with engraved vignette depicting a view of Milan, 21 engraved plates, some of which folded, including a large plan of Roman Milan folded several times, two headpieces, one of which is dedicated to Ercole Visconti, dedicatee of the work, and two engraved initials (occasional light spotting and browning). Contemporary calf, marbled endpapers (rebacked and lightly restored); preserved in a modern decorated paper case. Provenance: College Saint-Louis S.J. Liege (stamps on title).
