GROUP OF FOUR CYPRIOT POTTERY VESSELS
Ca. 1050 - 600 BC. A conical cup, a small handled bowl, a two-handled jar and a juglet form this group of four vessels in pale buff pottery. The handleless cup has straight flaring sides and a flat base, while the bowl combines a rounded body and low mouth with a single loop handle. The two-handled jar is shaped with a globular body, short cylindrical neck, rolled rim and small pierced handles at the shoulder; an irregular pale coating covers its neck and upper shoulder, with turquoise-coloured patches visible lower down. The juglet has a similarly rounded body but rises through a narrow neck to a flaring lip, with one vertical handle and traces of dark colour surviving across the neck and body. Size: 55-85mm x 65-95mm; Weight: 510g Provenance: Private UK collection; London art market acquisition, 1980s.
