GUCCI.
Short silk shirtdress with a multicolored floral print on an ivory background, classic collar, and matching tie-waist belt.
2013 Collection.
Size 42 (Italian)
This dress features the famous Flora print, one of Gucci’s iconic historical patterns. In 1966, Grace Kelly asked Rodolfo Gucci for a floral scarf, even though the house had never before developed such a design. Rodolfo Gucci then commissioned illustrator Vittorio Accornero di Testa to create a floral pattern specifically for this scarf. The design’s success soon extended far beyond the scarf. As early as 1969, Flora was adapted for a silk mini-dress, then shirts, bags, and accessories. After a period of decline, the pattern was revived by Frida Giannini beginning in 2005.
