In response to a "Beatlemania" that sweeps across the United States, a "Monkeemania" is created from scratch by producing a TV program featuring members of the group The Monkees. A contract was then signed with Gretsch which produced around two hundred "Monkees" models - a model with a racy sound and look, with its double key marks and its Supertron microphones. The model put on sale, in addition to being signed by Micky Dolenz, drummer of The Monkees, appears on the album of Cheap Trick released in 2016.
