Pipistrello has been produced by Martinelli Luce for 50 years and remains, to this day, an icon of Italian design. The Pipistrello lamp was designed by Gae Aulenti in 1965 and manufactured by Martinelli Luce, which is still producing it today. It is a table lamp characterised by the elusive shape of the conical base that spreads upwards and widens into the sides of the lamp shade, in the way a bat spreads its wings. The lamp consists of a shade in opaline methacrylate, a telescopic metal body and a black lacquered metal base. The light source is an LED that can be adjusted via a switch on the power cable. Today the Pipistrello is exhibited at the MOMA IN NEW YORK. THE LAMP WILL BE SHIPPED IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING, TRACKED AND INSURED SHIPPING.
