Gaëlle Guingant-Convert - Sculpture, Wall unit - Hybridation#1-19
Hybridisation #1-19 Encounter of a ceramic object with an everyday object, in order to put them in a new situation, to transform their use value and thus give them other existential statue. It is not a simple combination work, but the will to carry out a transgression. This unconventional association of materials (ceramic/polyamide/wadding adhesive) , which are a priori unrelated and opposite in their composition, texture and purpose, enhances the hybrid value. However, these materials are treated in the same stylistic approach, giving the coin a uniformity, while at the same time confusing our perceptions. The organic world is her main source of inspiration but it is difficult to define a common thread, a narrative between the different collections of Gaëlle Guingant Convert. If we were to draw a parallel with the work of the writer, we can say that Gaëlle Guingant-Convert writes short stories rather than a novel. Discovering new areas of research remains "his credo", allowing him to constantly renew himself in his work as a ceramist.
