This pair of armchairs entirely upholstered in red fabric has been designed to be compressed and sealed in a vacuum package for easy shipping and storage. When opened, they expand to their original size and shape.

Gaetano Pesce studied architecture at the University of Venice, and has worked as an architect and designer for companies such as B&B Italia, Vitra and Cassina. Based in New York since 1980, he has taught at the Cooper Union in New York and at the Institute of Architecture and Urban Studies in Strasbourg. Some of his designs are in the MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert in London, among other museums and collections.
