A curved frieze fragment of an undulating garland supported by a nude putto and a robed male figure, with a bird and a horse in the swags; lotus-leaf border above and pediment with rosettes; mounted on a custom-made stand. Cf. Jongeward, D., Buddhist Art of Gandhara in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, 2018, item 52. 56.7 kg total, 65 cm including stand (25 1/2"). From the property of a London gentleman; formerly in a UK collection, acquired in the 1990s.
