Unique handmade silver cigarette box with enamelled Peacock scene. The box is particularly beautiful in shape and very detailed made. An exceptionally detailed enamel scene of a peacock couple in a tree has been manually applied. The scene is very artfully and detailed, the many details will amaze you. Some details are the gold-plated details on the tail, the legs with toes and nails, very detailed tree trunk etcetera (too many to mention) Also with a beautiful intact gilded interior. A very refined engraving is placed on the bottom with a name and the date 18 November 1916 Is indistinctly hallmarked but to be sure we tested it for authenticity and we guarantee that it is entirely made of silver. Is a sturdy Cigarette Box with a length of 8. 8 cm and the width is 8. 2 cm. The box is quite heavy and has a weight of 117. 3 grams. The enamel scene on the lid is flawless, without dents, scratches, chips or any other form of damage. The enamel is also particularly high on colour. The bottom has a non-disturbing small dent here and there (see photos) The box is equipped with a perfectly working fastener with spring mechanism. A push of the button on the front and the lid pops open (works perfectly) And last but not least, the original inner springs that hold the cigarettes in place are also present (almost always missing) This unique silver Cigarette Box is a striking and particularly decorative object due to its chic appearance, its detailed tooling and enamelled décor. The closing mechanism works perfectly, so it’s also fun to use. Silver Cigarette boxes with enamelled lids are extremely rare and are (especially in this condition) only rarely offered.
