Gem-sized Tintype of African-American Soldier

Gem-sized tintype in carte de visite mount of a bust view of a young African-American male wearing a 9-button Civil War period tunic and a hat with brim folded down. Subject is identified in period manuscript inscription on lower obverse of mount "Boswell Warren". Mount exhibits some bumps and light staining and a 4mm tear below inscription. Image emulsion exhibits some slight bubbling and is dark.
