Gemstone: Kashmir Sapphire - 6.36 Cts. Kashmir sapphire mines, Pádar, Kishtwar district Jammu and Kashmir, India Hailing from India's iconic Kashmir mining district, this Kashmir Sapphire has the desired light cornflower blue hue coveted for the type. The oval-shaped stone has mixed cut faceting with a brilliant cut crown and step-cut pavilion. Accompanied by a GIA Report #2235092078 stating no indications of heat, this velvety offering is a classic example of the historic, mined-out material. Unearthed from pegmatite veins in the towering Himalayan mountains, this material grows alongside other minerals and absorbs those crystals when forming, creating a 'milky' appearance. Typical for the material, it is heavily included, adding depth to this intriguing stone, which features a balanced cut and nice polish. Some of the inclusions are surface-reaching, but, otherwise, the stone is in excellent condition. Measurements: 11.60 x 9.45 x 6.36 mm, 6.36 cts.
