General Gerhard Tappen - A cased Officer's Cross with Flames and Swords of the Bavarian Military Order of Merit
Cross crafted in several pieces in gold, enamelled on the obverse, with riveted swords. On the reverse a long vertical pin, maker's mark “J.L.” (= Jakob Leser, Straubing) and the mark of fineness “750” in the hollow-stamped crown. 50.9 mm wide, weight 24.1 gr. In a light blue case (soiled) with silver-printed inscription, the gold-printed maker's logo of Leser, Straubing in the lining of the lid and a corresponding label and numbering on the underside.
