Georg Biermann (Editor) - JAHRBUCH DER JUNGEN KUNST - COMPLETE 5 VOLUME SET WITH 32 ORIGINAL GRAPHICS

[ translate ]

A complete set of the 5 Volumes of this very scarce and highly important Yearbook which was a yearly survey of contemporary developments in European visual arts that was published from 1920 to 1924. The 5 volumes contain 32 original graphics, mainly in the form of lithographs, woodcuts and linocuts. (There was also a deluxe limited edition of 100 copies with 12 signed prints). Each of the quarto books have between 358 and 444 pages bound in quarter cloth and wonderful expressionist illustrated boards, probably also original graphics. Original graphics by:

VOLUME 1: Pechstein, Nitsche-Nitsche, Cuchartz, Weber, Morgner, Eberz, Feininger and Waske.

VOLUME 2: Campendonk, Heckendorf, Matare, Grosz, Achmann and Viegener.

VOLUME 3: Beckmann, Teutsch, Kohl, Kretschmar, Jansen, Kohlhoff and Mathey.

VOLUME 4: Coubine, Archipenko, Wagner, Mense, Gotsch, Schrimpf and Felixmuller.

VOLUME 5: Dix, Marchand, Masareel, Crodel and Laboreur.

The condition varies from very good plus to very good minus with slight to moderate wear to the boards and occasional light spotting or staining internally. However all volumes are tight, complete and without inscriptions. The images will give a good idea of condition but I am happy to provide more details on request. I have also included a few images of the original graphics. There are also numerous in text illustrations. Complete sets of this important series containing all the graphics are seldom offered.

Now offered with a very low reserve price. Please note that this is a heavy lot so shipping costs outside of South Africa need to be considered.
