A mid 20th century Georg Jensen "Blossom" pattern Sterling Silver tea set with original carved handles. Seven piece set includes a 16 3/4 X 21 3/4" extra heavy rectangular tray (weighing 112.34 troy ozs), a hot water kettle on stand with burner (10 3/4" high), a tea kettle (5 1/4" high), a coffee pot (8 3/4" high), handled creamer (6 3/4" long), a covered sugar bowl (4 1/2" high) and open waste bowl (4 3/4" diameter). All marked "Denmark, Georg Jensen, Sterling" with the Jensen post-1945 logo above "2 D". 136.39 troy ozs including handles plus the 112.34 toz tray totals 248.73 troy ounces. Minor wear, shows little use with tight fitting lids, some light surface scratching, hairlines in handles, all monogrammed "M" on underside and annotated "1935 - JUNE 16 - 1951". ESTIMATE $15,000-25,000 Provenance: Purchased by Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Kaufer in 1981 from the original owner Mr. Harry Matlin of Vineland, NJ. Includes Matlin's original receipt from J. E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia, June 18, 1951.
Condition Report: Minor wear, shows little use with tight fitting lids, some light surface scratching, hairlines in handles, all monogrammed "M" on underside and annotated "1935 - JUNE 16 - 1951".
