Extremely rare "Officer of the Squadron" 1744 copy this famous voyage. There were two unauthorised accounts of the voyage published in 1744 and this is the scarce "Officer of the Squadron" version. This copy unusually has all 5 plates although two have suffered partial loss and have been complemented by facsimile copies (which can be removed if desired) .
Lacking portrait of Commodore Anson (supplied in facsimile) and pages 59-61 (two leaves) supplied in facsimile and pages 49 and 50 of the appendix also supplied in facsimile. Re-backed with original spine overlaid. Contemporary calf boards. X, 11-408,54pp.
