Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: A prominent member of the Williams family of painters, which included artists such as George Morland and James Ward R.A., George Williams received his artistic education at the hands of his father, the painter Edward Williams. This view of the Thames is typical of the artist's work, and a theme to which he regularly returned throughout the course of his career, expressing his close connection with Barnes, where he lived for over fifty years.
