Georg Hambüchen was trained at the Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie. From 1880 onwards, many students from this course went to the Dutch coast to capture fishing life in all its facets on canvas. So is Georg. It is known that he stayed in Katwijk around 1930, possibly in the company of his father Wilhelm Hambüchen, who had been coming here in the summers since 1905. Both painted impressionistic coastal views. But while his father was attracted by the fishing life on the beach, Georg's emphasis was on beach entertainment.
\r
Viewing is of course possible. We also have our own in-house frame shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. We also use restorers from the trade organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this, we would of course like to hear from you.
