George II Polychrome and Chinoiserie-Decorated Cabinet
second quarter 18th century, in two parts, the upper section with an arched cornice over a pair of conforming glazed doors, on a base with a pair of doors, on bracket feet, the surface later.

Condition Report: In very good restored condition. The renewed surface exhibits scattered losses to paint and gesso, normal rubbing, inpainting and wear. The piece appears to be constructed of pine. It exhibits shrinkage throughout. Lower case is very sturdy and stable, exhibiting no movement at the glue joints. Three of the glazed plates in the upper section are later replacements. One door hinge is loose. The interior has been discreetly wired for electrical lighting, with a small hole drilled at a lower corner for the wires. A functional key accompanies the piece for the lower doors. The upper lock is replaced, with no key. Brasses are replaced.
