A George III Irish Mahogany Tall Case Clock, Robert Holmes, Dublin, Ireland, Fourth Quarter 18th Century. The thirteen and a half inch square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, inscribed 'Robert Holmes / DUBLIN', having Roman hours and Arabic minutes, with subsidiary seconds dial, within cast spandrels, the twin train movement striking on a bell. The hood with foliate carved sarcophagus, the dial door flanked by Corinthian stop-fluted engaged colonettes and rectangular sidelights, the well proportioned trunk with molded tombstone door, flanked by canted corners, above an ogee waist molding, raised on a conforming box base with raised panel, ending with bracket feet.

Dimensions: Height 101in; width 22 1/2in; depth 11 1/4in.

Condition Report: The case in overall restored condition, The hood lacking some elements where the finials fit in. The case is highly polished. General marks, wear, abrasions and surface scratches. With two weights, pendulum. We cannot guarantee the completeness and functionality of the clock's movement.
