George III oak and walnut banded dresser base
George III oak and walnut banded dresser base, circa 1750, 86cm high, 179cm wide, 60cm deep
Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,
Old splits and cracks, the joints to the planks to the top opening,
Old chips, losses, and some replacements to the timber and veneered banding surrounding the drawer fronts, some elements are present but Dreweatts cannot guarantee all missing sections are present.
The handles are not original but are in keeping with the base, they are all slight variants of each other, all the locks have been removed and plugged with timber, the escutcheons are later too,
The central leg is a separate piece of timber attached to the bottom of the base, this appears to be how it was designed, the outer legs are one continuous piece
