George IV Mechanical Architects Table or Desk

English, circa 1820. Regency era mahogany mechanical desk, in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster and London, having an adjustable slanted document surface with a pull out writing surface with tooled leather and single drawer, the area under the writing surface fitting with inlaid alphabetical storage compartments with two concealed drawers; rising on reeded legs with casters. The lock marked J. Bramah 124 Piccadilly. Approx. h, 36", w. 43.75", d. 26.5".
Condition Report: Fading to mahogany; small area of moulding detached but present; wear to leather writing surface.
