Description:
George Jones Majolica nut dish which features a squirrel holding a nut. Turquoise ground version. Colouration: green, brown, turquoise, are predominant. Bears a pattern number, '2515 B'. English diamond registration mark for the date 22/12/1869.
Condition Report:
Generally good. Slight wear to the high points of the molding. KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack across ankles; kiln detritus caught in the glaze to squirrel's back. RESTORATION: stabilised and retouched crack to rim; retouched flakes to tail, ears and rim; tail and both ears reglued and joins retouched.
