George Jones Turquoise-Ground Majolica Pond Lily and Dragonfly Cheese Keeper and Stand
Circa 1874
Impressed GJ monogram mark and registry diamond R for 12 December 1874, black painted pattern no. 3412 and ^.
Cylindrical with a white waterlily finial, the sides molded with waterlilies, bulrushes and insects in flight against a turquoise ground, the stepped circular base molded with brown rushes. Height 10 inches, diameter 11 inches.

Condition Report: Restoration to dome. Multiple stable hairline cracks are visible. Under black light the restoration appears to be more significant; the interior of the stand has been completely over painted by a non professional with a non-majolica hue; there is a hairline to the foot rim (approx. 2 in.); restored chips around the periphery of the rim; blacklit
