During his internment at Minidoka Relocation Center during World War II, the artist collected bitterbrush shrub which he used in various furniture designs there and after his relocation to the east coast in 1943.

Cabinet features a pull-out writing surface above three drawers and four drawers with bitterbrush handles. Sold with a letter of authenticity from Mira Nakashima.

Condition Report: Cabinet shows minor wear from daily use, with surfaces showing areas of finish wear, light scratches, and minor dents. Several areas of minor repair and touch up, most notable to one corner and some scattered chips to edges. Writing surface shows moderate scratches continuing with use over time. Very good vintage condition.
