Provenance: Tobias Lear to James D. Julia Auction (Morphy's). Accompanied by an additional packet of provenance used to authenticate the relic.

The cloak swatch has impeccable provenance, originating from the Tobias Lear family and passed down for generations, along with a lock of Washington's hair, which led to the 2010 sale in James D. Julia's Winter Antiques and Fine Art Auction.
