Georges Terzian - Les Deux guitares
\Artist: Georges Terzian
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 55_46_cm
Born in Marseille on March 8th, 1939, Georges Terzian is a painter of Armenian origin. He began drawing and painting at a very young age: he joined the Fine Arts School of Marseille when he was fourteen years old. He ended his training a year later. However, he did not stop painting in his workshop in Sainte-Mitre, near Marseille. He later moved to Paris in the 1960s. There he studied music with Jean Lumière, an experience which marked his artist’s soul. In his early days in his workshop, Georges Terzian was inspired by Impressionism, and painted Provençal landscapes in the open air like Cézanne. Shortly after arriving in Paris, the artist's style evolved towards Cubism. He offers his own interpretation of this movement initiated decades earlier by Braque and Picasso. His oil paintings are a symphony of colours, where the artist deals with a form, an idea, a portrait. After solo exhibitions in Paris, many collectors (public and private) acquired his works in France and worldwide, especially in London and New York.
