Exhibition: Charles Durand-Ruel, Paris, Exposition G. d'Espagnat, March-April 1962, no.54 (according to the label on the reverse) Note: This work is by the French Post-Impressionist artist Georges d’Espagnat, who studied at the School of Decorative Arts and the School of Fine Arts in Paris. He was connected with a number of significant contemporaries, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, and Marc Chagall. His works are held in a number of important international collections, including the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris.
