Georgian Diamond, Enamel, Silver-Topped Gold Brooch Stones: Rose-cut diamonds Metal: Silver-Topped 18k yellow gold; enamel Gross Weight: 24.90 grams Dimensions: 1-5/8 inches x 1-3/8 inches This lot’s provenance can be traced back to the consignor’s great-grandmother, Camille Colbert-Chabanais, a direct descendent of the French minister of State under King Louis XIV, who married the last Duke of Bisaccia. Condition Notes: Eight rose-cut diamonds are missing. Unmarked, tests as silver-topped 18k. The reverse has a closed back, completed by pinstem and trombone catch. Having a hook on reverse for the addition of a drop. Tarnish visible on the silver and gold. A significant crack is visible in the enamel. The brooch is accompanied by an antique box marked "Wartski."
