Georgian & William IV Copper Coin Collection (c.1740s–1830s)...
Georgian & William IV Copper Coin Collection (c.1740s–1830s) Small group of original British copper coins spanning the reigns of King George II, King George III and King William IV. Includes farthings and halfpennies dating from the mid-Georgian period through to the final pre-Victorian years of British copper coinage. These are honest circulation pieces with the heavy wear expected from coins that passed through markets, taverns and everyday trade during the Georgian era. The group includes an early 1761 George III issue from the opening years of his reign, together with an 1834 William IV farthing from the last years before the accession of Queen Victoria. An attractive and untouched historical copper group with deep circulated character and original dark patina throughout. Ideal as a starter collection or display set illustrating the evolution of Georgian British copper coinage.
