TLS and AN

Gerald Ford TLS and George W. Bush handwritten notes (unsigned). Lot of two presidential autographs. Both in near fine condition.

Includes:

Gerald Ford TLS on his personal imprinted letterhead with presidential seal. 1p, 7.25" x 10.5"; California; April 15, 1981. A post-presidential letter to Richard Digan of Baltimore, declining an invitation to attend the Heisman Trophy Dinner. He adds: "As I'm sure you know, football has always been of great interest to me. Any recipient of the Heisman Trophy is to be commended for his talent, dedication and good sportsmanship. Please extend my congratulations to this years [sic] winner on his stride to excellence." Signed, "Gerald R. Ford". With the original transmittal cover featuring a stamped franking signature at top right. Ford was notably a star player on the football team for the University of Michigan. He declined offers from two NFL teams upon graduating, and instead took a coaching job at Yale in hopes of attending their law school. He remained a dedicated football fan his entire life. Flattened folds, with bright paper. Light soiling to envelope.

George W. Bush handwritten notes (unsigned) on his presidential schedule revised at 6:29 p.m. on January 4, 2006. Both sides of a small sheet of card stock with blue ruling on the front, 4" x 7.5"; Washington, DC President Bush's schedule is laid out in great detail, sometimes in increments as short as five minutes. He has written a list of names in black Sharpie at top, "Shultz / Hon Brown / Baker / Perry / Powell"; and adds a note on verso, "[?] man / @ WH." Great memento of W.'s time in office. Exceptionally clean.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
