True to the tradition of leading post-impressionist painters such as Van Gogh, Vieillevie's work is composed of still lifes, lush gardens and flora. His work has been exhibited in Paris, Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul, and he received the International Lion's Club Gold Medal for painting (1974) . He died in 1992. Posthumously, in 1993, a major exhibition at the Katia Granoff gallery was dedicated to him.
