BIOGRAPHY:
Born in Dusseldorf, Germany, Morgenstjerne attended the Art School in Dusseldorf, where he lived until 1897. At that time, he moved to the Netherlands and studied at The Hague, Katwijk, Zierkzee, and Noordwijker-hout. His studies in the Netherlands helped him to develop his favored style. Cool, muted tones and thick, luscious brushstrokes characterize his paintings, which usually show beach views and marines, fishermen and fishing boats.Morgenstjerne Munthe has had exhibitions in Arnhem, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Leeuwarden an dhas works in many private collections.
