Made in Suhl, Germany by Immanuel Meffert, circa 1910. 27-1/2" Damascus 16 gauge barrel beside fluid steel 8x72R caliber steel rifle (should be chamber cast) with matted rib with maker marking, rifle sights, claw scope bases, and extractors. Underlever Oak leaf and game scene engraved action with Meffert patented "Grip Safety" with double trigger (front trigger is a set), cocking indicators, and steel trigger guard. Overall 80% fading barrel blue and Damascus scene with areas of brown patina. Action has faded to a silvery brown. Wood has traces of finish with checkering worn flat. Stock has one crack on comb peak. Good bores and mechanics.
