German Mauser Model 98/05 bayonet, beautiful 370 mm "carp tongue" blade, dated "17" (1917) on the back and signed on the heel "Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf a.N.," eagle-head pommel stamped with a backward-curving quillon and checkered wooden scales, slotted screws, steel scabbard clearly stamped “Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. Oberndorf a.N.”, with a blackened leather gusset (manufacturer’s mark present but illegible), signs of wear, oxidation, total length 530 mm, Germany, World War I era.
