German Occupation of Jersey Interest - a rare Range Board looking from Resistance Nest La Perelle 11 towards St Catherine's Breakwater, Jersey, used by the Russian troops serving in the German army during the Occupation, hand painted in oil on board, inscribed in Russian "During the defensive fire, you can produce 250 shots. Defensive fire can be repeated", annotated in black with the ranges to targets and significant features with blue dots, a barrage blocking point is indicated in red on the slipway at Gibraltar, 7 7/8 x 12in. (7.9 x 30.5cm.).
* The Resistance Nest WN Perelle 11 was located off La Vielle Charriere in St Martin and was manned by Unit 643 ROA which consisted mainly of Ukrainians. During the spring of 1944 this unit became 1V/582 (4th Battalion of Grenadier Regiment 582). The unit manned the coast from north of Gorey along the north coast to just beyond Devil's Hole.
**Scuffed, with paint losses but the colours are strong and the board is generally sound.
