German Oil Painting Sea Patrick von Kalckreuth (DoC)

Up for sale from a recent estate in Hawaii, this Vintage German (after 1937) gilt framed oil on canvas painting that depicts a North Sea beach and was created by the well known artist Patrick on Kalckreuth (1892-1970). More about the artist:
The painter Patrick von Kalckreuth (1892-1970) was born in Kiel as Patrick Dunbar, his mother remarried to Richard von Kalckreuth in 1931, after that he changed his name thus being already in his 30s, early works are signed under the name Patrick Dunbar. After a brief career as a seaman, von Kalckreuth studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin under the painter Hugo Schnars-Alquist.
He lived both in Düsseldorf and Berlin, but frequently spent summers months at the North Sea in Cuxhaven. Von Kalckreuth’s early works primarily show ships at the sea and are heavily influenced by Schnars-Alquist. Later in his career, he focused more on the sea itself, frequently painting beautiful seascapes highlighted by crashing waves and sunsets.
His paintings are displayed in several museums and galleries in North Germany

Condition: The item is overall in excellent pre-owned condition, the painting is original unrestored no issues, the frame with some losses to the gilt in places and minor chips to the design, in case you want to save some money the canvas can be mailed without the frame, but the shipping quote is for the framed painting,"
